Medieval thinkers have developed natural law theory significantly and exerted an enduring influence on subsequent reflection. While the contribution of the Latin tradition of medieval thought has been widely studied, there is a growing number of studies on the natural law theory of the Byzantine, Jewish, and Islamic traditions.

This conference examines medieval views of natural law to consider how to address contemporary concerns.

Keynote speakers include Anver M. Emon (University of Toronto), Dominic Farrell (Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Aposolorum), Jonathan Jacobs (John Jay College), Basilio Petr? (Facolt di Teologia dell Italia Centrale, Florence), and Riccardo Saccenti (Universit degli Studi di Bologna).

Topic areas covered include Medieval and Renaissance philosophy, philosophical traditions, meta-ethics, normative ethics, philosophy of law, social and political philosophy, value theory and more.
