Keith Hess, PhDKeith Hess, PhD

Professor of Philosophy, College of Southern Nevada, Las Vegas

Dr. Keith Hess has his PhD in philosophy from the University of California–Santa Barbara. The title of his dissertation, which was supervised by Professor Aaron Zimmerman, is “Matter and Form: Towards an Animalist Conception of Personal Identity.” Although he defended hylomorphic animalism, he considers himself a dualist and is agnostic regarding which particular flavor of dualism is true. He has an MA from Biola University and a BA in Biblical Studies from The Masters University. He is a philosophy instructor at the College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas, where he is applying for tenure during the 2019–2020 academic year.
