Call for Papers: The Good, the Beautiful, the Green: Environmentalism and Aesthetics

Submissions are being collected for a special issue of the Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism focusing on the philosophical treatment of environmental aesthetics and ethics.

Papers with these main ideas will be considered: aesthetic and moral reasons for protecting the environment, aesthetic value and it’s role in how we act, the relation between environmental benefits and aethetic quality, the relationship between aesthetic values and moral values, the voices of past philosophers on the relation between environmental aesthetics and ethics, and more.

Sandra Shapshay and Levi Tenen will be the guest editors for this special issue of the JAAC.

Submission deadline is December 31, 2017.
