2019 Midwest Region of the Evangelical Philosophical Society: Call for Papers

The 14th Spring Meeting of the Midwest Region of the Evangelical Philosophical Society (EPS) is held in conjunction with the 64th Spring Meeting of the Midwest Region of the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS).

Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL will host the meeting Friday, March 29 — Saturday, March 30, 2019.

Conference Theme: Slavery, Freedom, and Power.

The Plenary Speaker will be Dr. Michelle Panchuk, assistant professor of philosophy at Murray State University.  

Plenary Speaker for ETS will be Dr. Willie James Jennings, associate professor of systematic theology and Africana studies at Yale Divinity School. 

Submission Deadline: 11:59pm EST, January 18, 2019; notification of acceptance by February 8, 2019

We invite abstracts for papers dealing with any topic in philosophy that is of interest to Christian philosophers. Abstracts of at least 400 words should be submitted via email as a PDF attachment no later than 11:59pm EST January 18, 2019 to Shawn Graves (University of Findlay), Chair of the Midwest Region of the EPS, at graves@findlay.edu. Please use the subject line “EPS 2019 Submission”.

Abstracts should be prepared for blind review and include a presentation title. In the body of the email, please include the following information: (1) name of author(s), (2) institutional affiliation(s), (3) phone number(s), and (4) email address(es).

We welcome submissions from anyone and everyone. We especially encourage submissions from underrepresented groups in philosophy.

Presenters will have 30 minutes to present their papers and should plan for 10 minutes of Q&A.
